John Schaap is Director of Engineering at Bennett Environmental, Inc. in Visalia, California. With over 20 years of agricultural and civil engineering experience, Mr. Schaap has consulted on design projects as well as environmental/regulatory compliance projects for agricultural and industrial operations, working with clients, local Counties, the Regional Water Quality Control Board, and the San Joaquin Valley Air Pollution Control District.
Mr. Schaap’s broad base of experience includes designing numerous animal and waste management facilities domestically and abroad, and managing the associated projects involved with permitting and ultimately building practical facilities for his clients’ businesses. Prior to joining Bennett Environmental, he served as a Vice President at a prominent civil engineering firm in the Central Valley.
Mr. Schaap is a licensed agricultural and civil engineer in the state of California. He graduated from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo with a bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Engineering and earned a master’s degree in Biological and Agricultural Engineering from the University of California, Davis. He served as a Kings County Planning Commissioner for four years and is a graduate of Class 39 of the California Agricultural Leadership Program.
John resides in Visalia with his wife and 4 children.
